Ever since I have been trying to become more fashionable, I have been really into fashion blogs. I just found a new one today that is right up my alley - http://slavetotarget.blogspot.com

Target is full of great fashion finds, but I am one of those people that doesn't have the patience to wade through the crap to find the good stuff. I can't wait to get to Target this weekend and get some leopard print flats!

Katie Style

While I think that Tom Cruise is crazy and that Katie Holmes is brainwashed, I can't help but love her classic style. So I guess you could say she is my style icon (along with Jennifer Aniston). I particularly like this outfit for winter, and can use some of the clothes I already have with a few extras to achieve the same look.





I would need to buy a plain black turtle neck, which I could wear with my new black pants (even though I think she may be wearing black jeans), flats and purse. I could wear it with the long wool coat and sparrow necklace I was thinking of purchasing below. What do you think?

No Noir for Me

I know that a big new trend for fall is the dark, goth nail polish. I don't think I am brave enough for black, but what do you think about these colors?

To Slouch or Not to Slouch

I already bought some brown boots for the season, and now I am looking for some black boots. I just don't know if I want to follow the slouching trend or not. If I don't follow it, I could conceivably wear the boots for a few seasons. But I do think the slouchy boots are so cute. What do you think?

I really need some coats for winter. I want a classic trench, a wool pea coat and another longer coat. What do you think of these coats from Nordstroms?? I want classic so I can wear for a few years, but not too plain.

Wedding Outfit

What do you think about this outfit I bought for a wedding next week? The dress actually looks good on me, I am just not sure if it is too busy?? It is a 6 p.m. wedding. I was hoping to find the perfect "little black dress" but didn't find one, but might go back to the mall this weekend.

Some new purchases

Here are some new purchases I made recently:

I had been carrying around the same plain black Coach purse for a couple years, so I needed a new bag. I wanted to get something good for work and weekend, and I also like the handheld bag/satchel trend.

I also needed some new work shoes, so I got some mary janes, some flats, and some kitten heel shoes.

I also needed some boots, so I got these brown boots. I am still looking for a good pair of black boots, hopefully less than $250. Any suggestions??

I also needed some work clothes, so I got a pair of plain black pants that actually fit me well (I had been wearing some really old ill-fitting black pants forever), and some tops to wear under suits.

I also got on the skinny jean bandwagon, and got a pair of Lucky straight leg jeans.

Also for jewerly, I bought a few things - jet black necklace, and some crystal earrings (can't find a pic of them).

Want list:

So those are some of the things I have purchases so far (I know there are a few more but I am not thinking of them right now) but I really need a lot more things.

I need some new suits and work tops, as maybe some other work outfits that are a suit but still very professional. I also need lots and lots of casual winter clothes and new coats and jackets. I really want a traditional trench coat, maybe a white pea coat and a tweed wool coat with a belt. I also really want a nice watch, and I really like this one.

Anyone have any suggestions??

About Me

I am starting this blog because I want to become more fashionable and need your input. For some reason, I have always hated shopping. I mostly hate spending the money on clothes and making the effort. I recently started trying to keep up to date with fashion and now I am obsessed with building a great waredrobe. My closet is filled with clothes that I don't like (mostly things I bought on sale that don't fit quite right) and that are so BORING. So my goal is to fill my closet with things I love.

I work in a conservative professional environment and have to wear suits most days, so I can't go too crazy at work. But I can definitely update my look with nicer suits, trendier tops, and fun jewerly and shoes. And I also need lots of new clothes for weekends and social events. Hopefully anyone looking at my blog can give me some feedback on what I am buying and thinking about buying.
